Demand the Release of the Panchen Lama – 25 April at the Chinese Embassy
On 25 April, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet, turns 37 — still vanished without a trace.
In 1995, just days after the Dalai Lama recognized him as the rightful reincarnation of the 10th Panchen Lama, the then six-year-old Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was abducted by the Chinese authorities. Since then, there has been no independent evidence of his existence, whereabouts, or well-being. He is considered the world’s youngest political prisoner and has now been missing for more than thirty years.
On 25 April, Tibetans and their supporters around the world will take action to demand the immediate release of the Panchen Lama. In the Netherlands, we will also raise our voices at the Chinese Embassy.
We call on all Tibet supporters—and everyone who believes in human rights and justice—to join us and protest together at the Chinese Embassy in The Hague.
